Foothills Cello Festival ’11

Mission Statement

The goal of the Foothills Cello Festival is to create an enriching musical and educational experience for young cellists.  They will have the opportunity to learn from master cellists as well as build a community among their fellow musicians, not to mention all the fun they will have!

This year’s festival dates are August 20th and 21st!

We are very excited to have two wonderful cellists joining us as guest coaches:

Walter Gray has been a member of the Seattle Symphony for thirty years after graduating from the Curtis Institute.  He was a co-founder of the Kronos Quartet and currently a founding member of the new music ensemble Quake. He has performed as a guest soloist with SSO and a number of music festivals. He has been Principal Cello with the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra for 24 years and has also participated in the Marrowstone, Waterloo, Mostly Mozart, Mt. Gretna, Olympic, Cabrillo, and Tidewater Music Festivals.  Walter has been on faculty at University of North Texas, WWU, SUNY at Geneseo, and is currently teaching at Seattle University.

Peter Williams – Bio soon to come!
